Until July 6th, The Museum of Modern Art presents ‘Good Night Good Morning’, a comprehensive retrospective of the performance artist Joan Jonas, including recent works about ecology and marine life – and featuring her beloved dog, Ozu.
In a studio visit with MoMA, Jonas – known for incorporating natural elements like the wind in her works – recalled how in the beginning of her career she worked with whatever materials were at hand.
So, it was only natural that, when her dog walked into her video frame, she began collaborating with it as a fellow performer and mythic creative force.
