Save the date to visit FLAT // LAND at the 14th edition of MIA Photo Fair, the largest photography fair in Italy!
FLAT // LAND will present for the first time work of Dutch photographer Scarlett Hooft Graafland known for the astonishing scenarios she stages in the most isolated corners on earth – think of surreal landscapes in deserts, glaciers, forests. The absurdity of existence against itself is found in every work. As part of locale history that continues to live on in the minds of the populations of today, these narratives are linked with harsh times of draughts, slavery or forms of extraction of habitats, but simultaneously tell the resilience of people. In all of these cases Scarlett Hooft Graafland shows empathy, beauty and charm.
For the new edition, MIA changes location and returns to Superstudio Più, in the heart of Via Tortona in Milan.
