New work of Scarlett Hooft Graafland en Kim Boske
March 12, 2026
FLAT // LAND is proud to show new work of Scarlett Hooft Graafland and Kim Boske at upcoming fair Art Rotterdam. In the new work of Boske, Kamiyama, the Akui Gawa River flows like a lifeline through the valley, connecting communities and nurturing the land. Historically, its floods enriched the soil for cultivating Japanese indigo (Persicaria tinctoria), a plant central to local craftsmanship for centuries.
Kim Boske’s work explores this near-symbiotic relationship between the river, the landscape, and the people—reflecting the delicate balance between nature and human life. Her work is a blend between painting, indigo dye and photography.
Scarlett Hooft Graafland returned to the Middle East in January 2026 where she came across the most ancient Pyramids, honored and treasured over thousands and thousands of years, holding historical and cultural values, kingdoms of the past. With her typical wit, Scarlett Hooft Graafland found two brooms to reveal a truth in a unique way.
